Quality vinyl or non-woven wallpaper on a properly primed, dry wall commonly lasts 10 to 15 years indoors. How long yours lasts depends on the paper, the adhesive, humidity in the room and how much the wall gets touched or scuffed.
We don’t recommend it. New paste can soften the old layer, which leads to bubbles and lifting seams. We strip the old paper, repair the surface and prime it first. This is the main step that separates a lasting job from one that peels within months.
