Quick Answer

What Is Interior Vinyl Wrapping?

Interior vinyl wrapping is the process of covering cabinets, doors, furniture and walls with a thin self-adhesive architectural film to change their colour and finish. Decora Dubai provides wrapping in Dubai for kitchens, wardrobes, bathrooms, offices and hotels. The service covers surface preparation, film application and edge sealing, without removing the existing joinery.

Key Takeaways

  • Vinyl wrapping changes the look of an existing surface with an adhesive film, so kitchens and furniture can be updated without being replaced.
  • Common items for wrapping in Dubai include kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, doors and frames, bathroom vanities, reception desks and wall columns.
  • Wrapping cost depends on the surface area, the number of doors and panels, the film grade and how much repair the surface needs. Decora Dubai gives an itemised quote after inspecting.
  • A standard kitchen is usually wrapped in [X] to [X] days, so the room can be used again much sooner than after a full refit.
  • How long a wrap lasts depends on the film quality, surface preparation and how much heat and wear it gets. A properly installed architectural film is built for years of everyday indoor use.

What We Wrap

What Can Be Wrapped?

Almost any smooth, solid interior surface can be wrapped, including laminate, lacquer, MDF, metal and glass. These are the projects we take on most.

Kitchen Cabinet Wrapping

Kitchen wrapping covers the cabinet doors, drawer fronts, side panels and plinths with a new film. You keep the existing cabinet boxes, worktop and appliances, so there’s no demolition, no plumbing changes and no weeks without a kitchen.

Best for: Dated kitchens · Rental upgrades · Pre-sale refreshes

Wardrobe and Furniture Wrapping

Built-in wardrobes, dressers, bedside tables and TV units can move from glossy cream to matt oak or soft grey without being replaced. This keeps good furniture in use and changes the whole feel of a bedroom.

Best for: Bedrooms · Dressing rooms · Kids’ rooms

Door and Frame Wrapping

Interior doors and frames with chips, scratches or yellowed paint can be wrapped in wood grain or solid colours. This is often the quickest way to make a whole apartment look updated.

Best for: Apartments · Villas · Hotel corridors

Bathroom Vanity Wrapping

Vanity doors and side panels can be wrapped in water-resistant films with sealed edges. Areas with direct, constant water contact, such as inside showers, are not suitable for wrap.

Best for: Guest bathrooms · Ensuites · Powder rooms

Commercial Interior Wrapping

Reception desks, office partitions, lift interiors, columns and hotel room furniture can be wrapped with minimal downtime. Work can be scheduled out of hours  so the business keeps running.

Best for: Offices · Retail · Hotels · Restaurants

Our Process

How Is Vinyl Wrapping Done?

Wrapping only lasts if the surface underneath is prepared properly. Our process has six steps.

01

Consultation

Send photos of what you want wrapped and the finish you like.

02

Site Inspection

We check each surface for peeling laminate, swelling, grease and damage, and count the doors and panels.

03

Finish Selection

You compare film samples in your own light, so you can see how the colour and texture really look.

04

Written Quote

You receive an itemised quote covering preparation, film and labour.

05

Preparation and Application

We remove handles and hinges, then degrease, sand and fill dents. Primer is applied to the edges, and the film is laid with a felt-edged squeegee and shaped around edges with a heat gun.

06

Finishing and Handover

We trim the film cleanly, post-heat the edges to lock them down, refit the hardware and explain how to care for the new finish.

Materials & Tools

What Materials and Tools Are Used for Wrapping?

Architectural Film

Self-adhesive PVC interior film with air-release channels, so it goes on without bubbles.

Primer

An adhesion promoter on edges and corners, where peeling usually starts.

Surface Preparation

Degreaser, isopropyl alcohol, fine sandpaper and wood filler for dents and chips.

Application Tools

Felt-edged squeegees, a heat gun, snap-off blade knives and knifeless cutting tape for clean cuts on finished surfaces.

Hardware Care

Handles, hinges and soft-close fittings are removed and refitted, or replaced if you choose new ones.

Compare Your Options

Wrapping vs. Replacing vs. Repainting: Which Is Better?

For most solid cabinets and doors, wrapping is the fastest and least disruptive way to change the finish. Replacement only makes sense when the structure itself is damaged.

Pricing

How Much Does Wrapping Cost in Dubai?

Wrapping prices in Dubai mainly depend on how much surface is covered and the film you choose. These six factors decide the final cost:

  • Surface area: More doors, panels and walls mean more film and labour.
  • Film grade: Textured wood, stone and metallic films cost more than solid colours.
  • Shape: Profiled doors, curves and tight corners take longer than flat panels.
  • Surface repair: Peeling laminate, swelling or deep chips need repair first.
  • Hardware: Removing and refitting handles and hinges is included in the labour cost. New handles cost extra.
  • Timing: Out-of-hours work for offices and hotels may be priced differently.

Dubai Owner’s Guide

Wrapping in Dubai: What Property Owners Should Know

Older villas and dated kitchens

Many established villas in Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Mizhar and Al Khawaneej still have their original glossy or yellowed kitchen and wardrobe finishes. When the cabinet boxes are still solid, wrapping updates the look in days instead of weeks of rebuilding.

Heat near ovens and hobs

Interior film is not designed for direct high heat. We leave a gap around cooktops and oven housings, or recommend heat shields, so the wrap does not lift or bubble next to appliances.

Sunlight and humidity

Cabinets and furniture under large windows in Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah apartments get strong direct sun. Choosing UV-stable films for these areas reduces fading over time. In bathrooms, sealed edges and water-resistant films protect vanity doors from humidity.

Rentals, handovers and fast turnarounds

Landlords and property managers use wrapping to refresh units between tenants with very little downtime. Tenants should get the landlord’s approval first, since removal can affect some original finishes.

FAQ

Wrapping FAQs

Kitchen wrapping cost depends on the number of doors and panels, the film finish, the cabinet shapes and any repairs needed first. A small kitchen with flat doors costs much less than a large kitchen with profiled doors and a textured finish. Decora Dubai gives an itemised quote after inspecting.

How long a wrap lasts depends on the film quality, surface preparation and daily use. Good architectural film with primed and post-heated edges is made for long-term indoor use. Keeping it away from direct heat and harsh cleaners extends its life considerably.

Most kitchens can be wrapped if the cabinet surfaces are solid and smooth. Doors with swollen MDF, peeling laminate or water damage must be repaired or replaced first. We check every door during the site visit and tell you honestly which ones are suitable.

A standard kitchen is usually wrapped in [X] to [X] days. VERIFY A wardrobe or a set of doors can often be completed in a single day. Commercial projects are scheduled around business hours, and we confirm the timeline in your quote.

Clean a wrapped surface with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and steam cleaners, which can damage the film. Wipe up spills promptly, especially near edges, and don’t place hot pans directly against wrapped panels.

We serve Mizhar, Nad Al Hamar, Nad Al Sheba, Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Jumeirah, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, along with other Dubai communities. VERIFY Share your location when you request a quote and we’ll confirm the site visit.
